Choose Your Own Adventure

Outland isn’t just a gravel race — it’s a journey through the heart of southern Iowa’s wildest backroads. Whether you’re in it to crush watts or just soak in the scenery, we’ve got a route with your name on it.

The 100K — Full Send

This is the big one. A 100-kilometer loop through the hidden gems of Lucas County, packed with rolling hills, chunky Level B roads, and long stretches of wide-open beauty. It’s challenging, remote, and unforgettable, just how we like it.

  • 64 miles
  • 2,600+ feet of elevation
  • 2 aid stations
  • Water crossing, loose gravel, and plenty of yeehaw

The 60K — Half Pint, All Grit

Don’t let the shorter distance fool you. This is still Outland, and the 60K brings all the character, without quite as much leg burn. It’s the perfect route for first-timers, gravel-curious riders, or anyone who wants to ride hard and still have energy left for the beer garden.

  • 36 miles
  • 1,500+ feet of elevation
  • 1 aid station
  • Scenic, spicy, and just as fun

Outland Is Off the Map

No signs. No crowding. No chase cars. Just you, your bike, and a whole lot of gravel. These routes are remote, and that’s the magic. Cell service is spotty at best — so come prepared and ride smart.

Not Just a Race. A Place.

Outland routes take you through farmland, forest, ridge lines, and roads that rarely see traffic, let alone a bike race. You’ll get a sense of why we love southern Iowa — and why we think you will too.
